Our Story

How it all started...

The story of Legacy Church is really a story of God’s providence bringing two church families together at just the right time.

For years, the Lord was faithfully at work through The Table Fellowship, a young church plant committed to teaching the Bible verse by verse and building authentic gospel-centered community. At the same time, He had been working through Lighthouse Baptist, a congregation with a long-standing presence and legacy in the city. Both churches loved Jesus. Both desired to see people saved and discipled. Both cared deeply about the future of gospel ministry in Murfreesboro.

What began as conversations turned into prayer. What started as cautious exploration became months of intentional meetings, shared services, leadership discussions, and honest questions. This wasn’t rushed. It involved seeking unity, clarifying doctrine and governance, counting the relational and cultural costs, and making sure this was truly the Lord’s direction—not simply a strategic decision. Over time, it became increasingly clear that God was knitting our hearts together.

In His kindness, He aligned vision, values, and leadership. Lighthouse Baptist voted to step forward in faith; The Table Fellowship embraced the call to unity; and together a new work was formed—not one church absorbing another, but two legacies coming together to create something new.

Legacy Church was born out of prayer, humility, courage, and a shared desire to see the gospel move forward for generations to come. To God be the glory.

Expanding the vision...

As we move forward as Legacy Church, our heart is simple: renewed clarity and deeper faithfulness. We believe God has positioned us to strengthen discipleship, invest in families, raise up leaders, and expand our gospel impact throughout Murfreesboro. This isn’t about building something impressive—it’s about building something enduring for the glory of Christ.

Where we are headed...

We are committed to being a church rooted in God’s Word, marked by authentic community, and serious about discipleship. In the years ahead, we want to develop strong biblical leadership, equip every believer to live on mission, and cultivate a church culture where accountability, community, and discipleship are not slogans—but lived realities. By God’s grace, we aim to reach the lost, mature the saints, and leave a gospel legacy that impacts generations to come.
